Live interview with MM about KAG

I just got signed up for the IndieWeekend over at QubeTubers.com for a live interview. If you want to listen it’ll be in a few hours: Saturday 6th August 2011 at 4:00am EST. That should be 10:00am GMT. Watch the schedule if anything gets rearranged. Meet you there.

Pre-orders help

Some players are concerned that they didn’t get an order confirmation when buying the Gold Servers Access. If you got a confirmation from PayPal everything should be OK. Please note that this is a pre-order so the functionality isn’t yet available. Once it is done everyone will be e-mailed more information. To help this go smoothly, please add your e-mail to your account in the account control panel on http://www.kag2d.com.

Graphics build nearing completion!

We’re throwing in some more tweaks here and there and have quite a bit of conversion to do, however the new build should be out soon.

We were tossing up whether to hold the game for a few more weeks or not and add a lot more functionality but we’ve decided it’d fit more with our usual rolling release schedule to just get the damned patch out the door and address the gameplay concerns after that, which means:

  • You get the fixes that come with this build sooner.
  • We get to trial the new combat changes on a much larger scale.
  • We get gold servers up and running asap.
  • Some things might not be finalised -> we’ll need you to report a bunch of bugs.

Aaaaand:

  • Unless something goes wrong, release over the weekend!

Be prepared for a pile of downloading and redownloading as we enter bugfix mode.

Keen to see what the general populace get out of the changes, hope to see a lot of you in-game soon 🙂

Backgrounds & trees

I finished coding in the new backgrounds and fir trees. Sounds easy but there was a lot of recoding done to make the game work smoother with all these new features.

I added also an option in the menu to turn on a hq2x pixel shader which smooths out the pixels (a technique known from old console emulators).

I hope to get this version ready (at least a fully working test) by Friday this week.
